Patient Monitoring & Connectivity
WinDNA®
Since 1996, Windows Dynamic Network Access – WinDNA – has given clinicians easy and immediate access to more information and more functions at the patient's bedside. WinDNA is available as an option on the Ultraview 1700 and Ultraview SL3800 bedside monitors and is standard on the Ultraview SL2600 and Ultraview SL2800 bedside monitors.
WinDNA allows clinicians to view and control Windows applications right on the patient monitor, eliminating the need for separate terminals in the patient's room. Nurses can check lab results, enter orders, review protocols, perform charting and more at the patient's bedside. Input can be done using the mouse, keyboard, and touch-screen.
Improving efficiency and accuracy is a primary goal of WinDNA. In an environment where every step you take to a central terminal takes its toll in time and effort by the end of a shift, access to information at the patient's bedside is essential. In addition, information is used while it is fresh in your mind.
WinDNA is based on Citrix presentation server technology. Spacelabs was an early adopter of this technology and understands it well. A Citrix thin-client, embedded in the monitor, allows the user to launch applications installed on the Citrix server that your hospital may already own and manage. The Spacelabs monitors use Citrix's highly efficient ICA protocol using your hospital's existing network infrastructure. With no additional hardware requirements from Spacelabs Healthcare, using your existing architecture allows you to maximize your current investment.
WinDNA is a step-saving, time-saving, information tool — right at the bedside.
